The trends are in and the 70’s are back everyone!
I am not a huge fan of following trends in decorating and prefer to give a client what they want whether its trendy or not. Recently I read an article on the trends in interior design in 2014 and was instantly mortified! I felt like I stepped back to my childhood days with my pixie haircut and flared corduroy jeans strutting my stuff at the mall….oh the horror!
So here are the trends…..please have a barf bag ready at your disposal!
1-Macrame and fiber art wall hangings. (I remember a neighbor had given us one to hang in our summer home)
2-Window sheers. Ok this is “ok” for me but in lighter colors accented with stationary panels or something to not make it look so drab.
3-Corduroy upholstery. NO COMMENT!
4-Venetian marbled paper prints. Gah! Only in small spaces please!
5-Deco hues. Rose quartz, amethyst, topaz, olive, whiskey and raisin….ewwww!
